Estate, Business Succession & Charitable Planning; Probate & Trust Administration

The Firm has served the trusts and estates and related needs of high net worth families, assisting and advising them in protection and distribution of their wealth for later generations and charitable purposes. Estate planning is not solely for the wealthy, but is just as important for families with moderate estates. Important goals for families of all means are the protection of family members upon the death or disability of the primary provider, the maximization of benefits available for transfer to surviving family members, and the minimization of taxes to the extent possible. We provide legal advice about income, estate, gift, inheritance and generation-skipping taxes and work closely with clients’ accountants and tax advisors. We also provide legal advice regarding estate planning through gifting programs, insurance planning, various “estate freezing” techniques and charitable planning. Our Firm also works with closely-held entities, family limited partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations, to provide succession planning. Additionally, the firm assists clients in the administration of trusts and estates along with providing representation in litigating these matters, if the need arises.
